It occured to me while at a local scrapbooking & craft fair the other day, that visiting craft fairs is a wonderful way to save money on scrapbooking supplies. Have you ever noticed that craft fairs always have "show specials". You can get some real bargains on products that are normally only on sale once a year in the stores.
Also, if you think the cost of the entrance ticket doesn't cover the savings cost of show specials, try and get free entry. If you visit craft fairs website, they often have a free entry offer, or two for one. If you sign up to their mailing list, they often will send you free entrance tickets. Or go to your local scrapbooking or craft store who is participating in the show and they will often have free entrance tickets too. At most, I have only ever paid half price to get into a fair with a buy one get one free offer.
