21 AprCreating Scrapbooking Titles on a Budget

Well I thought I had better stick a picture of me up here, so you know who I am. This is me Patricia and one of my grandies.

This is me, Patricia.

This is me, Patricia.

Okay today I want to discuss how to make titles for scrapbooking pages on a budget.
Pretty much every scrapbooking page has to have a title and if you are using stickers or pre made die cut shapes, it adds up to be one very expensive part of the scrapbook page.

So here are some of my ideas:

1. Stamping!!! Yes who would have thought it. Stamps have been around way longer than scrapbooking, but have been slightly forgotten in our rush to have the latest greatest new printed die cut cardstock alphabet sets. But stamps are a perfect way to save money, as they can be used over and over again. The only cost being the cost of a nice set of alphabet stamps and few ink pads that will last forever (and you can easily borrow your friends ink pads without feeling guilty, to get some different colors).

2. Digital Scrapbooking. Get on the computer, download some funky fonts off the net and then you can print out fantastic titles in any shape and design. SO CHEAP!

3. Use alphabets and characters from newspapers, magazines and brochures. Most of the time they are free, just cut away!

4. Invest in a die cutting machine like a Sizzix or Cricut or one of the cheaper models available. These new scrapbooking die cutting machines use dies or cartridges that can be used over and over again. Yes there is a substantial initial outlay for the machine and shapes, but you can use them so many times to create great scrapbooking titles. The only ongoing cost then is the cardstock and paper used and yes the propensity for one to keep buying more and more dies!
